Grade 4 – Minor Scales

There are two types of minor scales which you will encounter in ABRSM music theory exams: Harmonic Minor and Melodic Minor. At grade 4 you will be expected to be able to identify and utilise both these forms of the minor scale, in key signatures of up to five sharps or flats.

If you haven’t already done so you will need to watch the following four videos. This may sound like a lot of video viewing, but remember that scales are an important part of music theory study. If you can master scales you are well on your way to achieving a good grade in the exam.
