Grade 1 – Accidentals & Semitones

Grade 1 music theory introduces the fundamentals of music.

The following video explains:

• Accidentals: sharps, flats and naturals
• Semitones and tones (also known as whole-steps and half-steps)

Please note – this video also refers to “double-sharps” and “double-flats” – these “double” accidentals are included for reference but are not currently part of the grade 1 music theory syllabus.
