Grade 5 – Key Signatures

Grade 5 music theory requires you to identify and correctly lay out key signatures:

  • of up to 6 sharps or flats
  • In Treble, Bass, Alto & Tenor clefs

In addition to the above, the following video also shows you how to lay out sharps or flats in key signatures with 7 sharps/flats (the maximum possible in any key signature). Although this is more than is required by the syllabus (and you will not be examined on it) this further piece of information is a simple and logical extension to the study of 6 sharps/flats.
